About The Position

Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups, with locations throughout greater Hartford. In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced Patient Registrar to join our team. Openings are available in both our Farmington and Glastonbury office. Monday through Friday hours are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; weekend hours are 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are seeking applicants who can commit to three to four shifts per week, including one weekend shift. Our highly visible Patient Registrars are responsible for greeting and checking in patients, gathering and entering patient demographics, obtaining insurance information, collecting co-pays, and scheduling appointments. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma plus a minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office with a background in patient registration and an understanding of different insurance carriers and plans. Your attentiveness to detail, excellent customer service skills, and ability to multi-task and be flexible in a changing environment will contribute to your success in this position. Requirements

  • High School diploma plus a minimum of two years of experience in a medical office with registration background
  • Knowledge of medical insurances
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Epic EMR software, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation

  • Registering patients, including gathering and entering/updating demographic and insurance information
