They will offer an exceptional patient experience and serve as the first point of contact for patients. The ideal candidate will portray Grand River in positive, professional light. The Patient Registrar is responsible for a range of tasks, including Reception, registration, and switchboard operations. They will handle switchboard operations, taking and relaying messages, directing calls to the appropriate hospital departments and personnel, and adhering to telephone protocols during emergencies. They will also page physicians or staff members when necessary and make announcements over the overhead paging system. Document Outpatient and Emergency Admissions through patient or guarantor interviews, inputting data into the computer system. They will welcome visitors, offer guidance, and explain hospital policies, financial obligations, and patient rights. Address all routine patient inquiries relating to the registration process, ensuring that all essential demographic and financial information is obtained and accurately recorded in the Electronic Medical Record system. Determine the appropriate payment source for the revenue generated during the patient's stay.
