About The Position

The Patient Registrar - Surgical is responsible for scheduling surgeries, procedures, and follow-up appointments. This includes coordinating pre-operative clearances, managing provider schedules, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and shared. The registrar communicates with patients and providers, documents accurately in the EHR, and supports administrative tasks like answering calls, updating calendars, and adjusting schedules. They also work with billing and insurance teams to ensure proper notifications and approvals. To succeed in this role, the registrar must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with EHR systems (such as Epic), professional phone etiquette, a collaborative mindset, and a basic understanding of insurance and surgical workflows are also essential. Flexibility to work at multiple locations and a commitment to maintaining a respectful, clean, and confidential environment are key expectations. This is a full time 36.25 hour position Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm schedule, overtime as needed. Schedule may change based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of at least one year working in a surgical practice.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record, preferably Epic.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese.
