About The Position

The Patient Registrar plays a crucial role in providing quality healthcare at Fairfield Medical Center by serving as the first point of contact for patients. This position is responsible for the efficient registration and pre-registration of patients, ensuring accurate collection of identification, demographic, and insurance information, as well as handling point of service cash collections. The registrar is integral to the patient care team, contributing to a positive patient experience through professional and personable interactions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced education preferred.
• One year of previous medical office experience preferred, with experience using an electronic health record.
• Professional interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues while managing multiple priorities.
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in various workstations and settings, demonstrating attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology as applicable to the position.
• Excellent computer and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Registering and pre-registering patients efficiently.
• Verifying patients' identification, demographic information, and insurance details.
• Collecting point of service cash, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
• Obtaining consent for medical treatment and ensuring compliance with necessary regulations.
• Performing accurate computer data entry and scanning of patient documents.
• Working with various systems, including the Patient Registration System and Electronic Medical Records.
• Completing any additional assignments to meet department needs.
