About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service focused, Patient Registrar to join our Lakeland Immediate Care Team! This position will likely work 10 hour shifts Thursday-Saturday. This full-time position includes weekends (weekend hours qualify for a $2.50 differential per hour). We need someone with a professional demeanor, can work well under stress/stress situations, will provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask! In this role you be responsible perform a variety of medical clerical duties. Some of those duties include registration and pre-registration functions to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through the services they require; prepare pre-registration packets appropriately for each procedure; ensure that copies of appropriate documentation are obtained to facilitate the billing and collections processes; process co-payments and payments; registered patients and update medical records; back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department; perform nightly closing procedures for clinic; call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service background.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.
