About The Position

The Patient Referral Liaison plays a critical role in creating patient access. This individual will be responsible for reviewing referrals within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), contacting patients, verifying insurance authorizations, and scheduling appointments to ensure patients receive the appropriate care at the right time with the correct physician. This position operates within a high-volume business office Call Center, working closely with ambulatory practices, and requires strict confidentiality.

Requirements

GED, high school diploma or completion of professional training program
Two years of related experience in a clinical environment
Ability to organize, analyze and prioritize work
Exhibit exceptional communication and negotiating skills to interact with payers, providers and patients
Business like appearance
detail oriented ability to multi-task
ability to work closely with others and function as a team member
Must possess the initiative and drive to take a project from beginning to a successful completion
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of payer portals and EMR scheduling a plus
Data entry experience preferred
