The Patient Portal Representative plays a crucial role in the EHR (Electronic Health Record) Operations team at Emerson Hospital. Reporting to the EHR Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the accurate filing, retrieval, preparation, scanning, and indexing of medical records into the OnBase electronic document management system. This process is essential for supporting patient care as well as legal and audit processes. The representative must exhibit a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that each page is examined thoroughly, patient identification is verified, and bar codes are correctly scanned. The role requires batching documents appropriately and ensuring that all records are indexed accurately and in a timely manner. In addition to the technical aspects of the job, the Patient Portal Representative must possess strong analytical and communication skills. They will be expected to manage multiple projects and large volumes of data while adhering to deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, as is the capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of the work. The representative will also need to demonstrate courtesy, tact, and cooperation in interactions with medical staff and other hospital employees, contributing to a positive work environment. This position is full-time, with a day shift schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The role may occasionally require irregular hours, reflecting the dynamic nature of the healthcare environment. Training will be provided for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications, ensuring they are well-prepared to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
