About The Position

The Patient Observer in the Specialty Float Pool at Saint Peter's Healthcare System is responsible for providing constant observation of patients who require one-to-one monitoring. This role involves documenting observations, maintaining a safe environment, and collaborating with registered nurses to ensure patient care is delivered effectively and empathetically.

Requirements

• Ability to display sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy in interactions.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients requiring one-to-one constant observation.
• Document observations accurately and timely.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients based on policies and therapeutic orders.
• Display a respectful and empathetic attitude towards patients and families.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Identify signs and symptoms or changes in behavior that require immediate attention from the RN.
• Collaborate with the RN on pertinent aspects of patient care.
