About The Position
Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Observer/Advocate to join our team at Mercy Medical Center. This full-time position involves working 36 hours per week on the night shift, specifically from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The Patient Observer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients by providing constant bedside observation and reporting on patients with various medical conditions. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, as the observer will assist physicians and nursing staff in monitoring patients, ensuring their needs are met, and facilitating a positive hospital experience for both patients and their families. In this role, the Patient Observer will be responsible for a variety of tasks that enhance patient assistance and experience. This includes patient transportation, cleaning, and stocking within the Emergency Department. The observer will greet patients, families, and visitors in a friendly manner, assisting them with comfort needs throughout their hospital stay. The ability to show compassion for the human spirit and mind, along with advocacy and transparent communication with patients and families, is essential. The Patient Observer will also be expected to accurately report all observations made on patients and perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager. This position is vital in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients during their hospital stay.
