About The Position

The Patient Navigator position at Endeavor Health is a per diem role based in Warrenville, IL, requiring availability as needed between the hours of 7am and 11:30pm, seven days a week. The primary responsibility of the Patient Navigator is to provide an initial response to clients reaching out to the hospital, conducting assessments, scheduling mental health appointments, and triaging crisis calls. The role also involves registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring accurate patient registration information in the computer system.

Requirements

  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Associate’s Degree plus a minimum of three years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Health related field.
  • Minimum of one year of previous experience in healthcare or in a behavioral healthcare setting.
  • Crisis line or crisis intervention experience.
  • Substantial knowledge of insurance plans such as Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers Compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Answers phone inquiries to determine the needs of the client.
  • Responds to and triages crisis calls.
  • Partners with the team to respond immediately to urgent situations.
  • Assists the client in determining appropriate services and eligibility requirements per the HMOI plan.
  • Schedules client appointments or refers clients to contracted providers as appropriate.
  • Enters data necessary for client registration using departmental software programs.
  • Uses software to assist in benefit verification, claims adjudication, and other aspects of the HMOI contract support function.
  • Communicates with providers and/or clients regarding scheduling, releasing information, and assessment recommendations.
  • Reviews various forms with clients telephonically as necessary.
