The Patient Mobility Technician (PMT) will provide patient transportation and assist nursing with patient handling task and patient lifting as requested. Lifting responsibilities is defined as total body transfers requiring maximal assistance to and from: (1) bed to/from chair/wheelchair; (2) bed to/from gurney; (3) bed to/from toilet/commode; (4) floor to bed; (5) repositioning (i.e. turning and up in bed), (6) any other lift where total body movement of a non-ambulatory patient is required. Assigned PMT will make rounds on a scheduled basis, approximately every (2) hours, use appropriate equipment for all patient handling task to provide a safe environment for the patient and staff member. While transporting patient, PMTs are responsible for supervision of the patient during transport. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, distributing supplies and equipment, assisting with traction set-up, transporting patient medications with the patient, and responding to other duties as requested.
