About The Position

We are looking for a compassionate, caring and dedicated Patient Intake Specialist I to join our team and help us continue our tradition of excellence. The Patient Intake Specialist will collect information via phone, in person (bedside or registration bay) or from the website to accurately register patients. This role involves verifying eligibility and discussing ABN notices when appropriate, as well as collecting, securing, and posting payments from patients. The specialist will greet patients, provide routing assistance (arranging transport or escorting patients) to the point of service, and offer wayfinding and guided tours of the facility. Additionally, the role includes delivering amenities, VIP gifts, bereavement gifts, and thank you cards, providing security assistance to vehicles, and assisting travelers with transportation arrangements. The specialist will work closely with ADON, doctors, and nursing staff for proper bed placement and admission orders, and will provide cross coverage for all areas of the Access Department including post admit. The position also requires accurately reviewing and resolving billing claim edits, follow-up workqueues, and patient workqueues related to registration errors, as well as conducting COVID screening and COVID-related registration.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of the health care revenue cycle is preferred.
  • Understanding insurance is a plus.

Responsibilities
