About The Position

The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Representative is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of billing claims. This role also involves the timely follow-up of unpaid inpatient, outpatient, and clinic claims. The representative provides appropriate medical documentation to the insurance carrier and retrieves primary Explanation of Benefits for secondary insurance carrier billing.

Requirements

  • Experience with managed care contracts.
  • Ability to calmly deal with stressful situations.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Computer data entry experience and 10 key/calculator.
  • Excellent customer services skills.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience in a health care environment.
  • Previous medical insurance billing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with all requirements and attachments for insurance payers within assigned workloads.
  • Works insurance denials daily.
  • Electronically bills ALL new charges daily.
  • Works unpaid insurance pending accounts that are 90 days and older starting with largest unpaid balances working down to the smaller, less financially impacting accounts.
  • Changes financial class immediately to secondary insurance or self-pay when it is determined that the primary insurance has paid their portion in full.

  • PDH is thrilled to provide our Child Care Center services to all families in our area. Our program is operational from 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday, and is approved for children aged 0 to 5 years. After submitting your application, our Child Care Director will get in touch with you about your acceptance into the program. Once approved, we will start the enrollment process. PDH employees take priority on our waiting list.
