Requirements

• Associates Degree or higher or High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years or more of specific revenue cycle job-related experience
• Successful completion of basic medical terminology course work
• Proven knowledge of Microsoft products to include; Outlook, Excel and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Versatile and flexible, willing to work within constantly changing priorities
• Prior experience with the Meditech BAR system
• Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) – Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR)
• Exhibits effective and independent decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Analyzing accounts receivable
• Resolving unpaid claims
• Handling billing inquiries
• Following up with third party payers and patients to ensure payment is received in accordance with the payer contract
• Complying with all applicable federal and state billing laws and regulations
• Collaborating with all team members of hospital departments, physicians and physician office staff, third party payers and patients to ensure accurate and timely payment
