About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for providing high quality client focused service by using extensive knowledge of state and federal program requirements to assist clients in applying for and obtaining government benefits.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required; 4 year degree preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Completing applications for state and federal program, reviewing medical records and taking all actions necessary to expedite benefit approval
  • Ability to apply knowledge of federal and state programs to benefit coverage for the client
  • Interviewing clients in a hospital setting to assist them in obtaining maximum benefits coverage
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and follow tasks through to completion without direct supervision
  • Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
  • Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members.
  • Attends Staff Meetings, completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
  • Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
  • Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.
  • Completes other duties as requested/assigned.
