About The Position

Are you passionate about helping patients navigate the financial side of their healthcare with compassion, clarity, and confidence? We're looking for a Patient Financial Services Representative to join our Business Office team and play a meaningful role in supporting patients and families during important moments in their care journey. In this role, you'll be a trusted resource for patients seeking hospital services-guiding them through insurance coverage, billing questions, financial assistance options, and payment arrangements. Provide financial counseling before and after services, helping patients understand their financial responsibilities in a clear and supportive way. Verify insurance eligibility, obtain benefit information, and complete required pre-certifications and authorizations. Investigate and resolve insurance denials or coverage issues, advocating for accurate reimbursement. Assist uninsured, underinsured, and high-credit-risk patients by identifying appropriate financial assistance programs. Determine patient financial responsibility and establish pre- or post-service payment arrangements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance rules, billing processes, and state and federal medical assistance programs. Serve as a backup for patient scheduling and registration during staff absences or busy periods. Perform cashiering duties, including receiving payments, posting receipts, and balancing daily totals. Maintain accurate, confidential financial records in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support seamless patient care and financial coordination. Participate in department meetings and continuous improvement efforts to enhance the patient financial experience.
