About The Position

UPMC St. Margaret is seeking a compassionate and service-oriented Patient & Family Concierge (PFC) to join our Physical Rehabilitation team. This full-time role plays a vital part in delivering direct patient care and enhancing the overall experience for patients and their families. The PFC serves as a liaison between clinical staff and patients, ensuring smooth communication and personalized support throughout the care journey.

Requirements

• Must have the desire, drive, and compassion needed to provide an exceptional patient and family experience at all times.
• High School diploma OR active High School/GED program enrollment OR one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
• Previous experience in health care or customer service is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and escort patients and visitors to correct locations.
• Provide hospital info and issue parking passes and scooters.
• Track patient belongings at admission.
• Clean and organize patient rooms and public areas.
• Restock supplies and change linens.
• Report maintenance issues.
• Prepare and serve meals per dietary orders.
• Deliver trays and confirm patient identity.
• Safely transport patients, equipment, and specimens.
• Disinfect and inspect transport equipment.
• Set up, sanitize, and test telehealth carts.
• Order and stock unit supplies and equipment.
• Monitor inventory, expiration dates, and temperature logs.
• Answer phones, respond to call lights, and assist patients.
• Follow safety protocols and report incidents.
• Performs in accordance with all other system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
