About The Position

Join Our Team as a Patient Escort I – Day Shift (Full-Time) Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in a healthcare setting? We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Patient Escort I to join our team and support patient care by ensuring safe and timely transportation throughout the hospital.
Position Details Location: Christiana Hospital – Newark Campus Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Additional Requirements: Every other weekend and participation in a holiday rotation

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods
• Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
• Knowledge of hospital layout and body mechanics
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
• Continuous standing, walking, pushing/pulling heavy equipment.
• Occasional bending, crouching, lifting.
• Exposure to cleaning agents, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments.
• Assist clinical staff with patient transfers.
• Maintain and care for transport equipment.
• Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.
• Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
