About The Position

Join Our Team as a Patient Escort I - Evening Shift (Full-Time) Location: Christiana Hospital - Newark campus Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours weekly) Requires Every Other Weekend & Holiday Rotation Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in a healthcare setting? We're looking for a compassionate and reliable Patient Escort I to join our team and support patient care by ensuring safe and timely transportation throughout the hospital.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer and smartphone proficiency.
• Knowledge of hospital layout and body mechanics.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments.
• Assist clinical staff with patient transfers.
• Maintain and care for transport equipment.
• Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.
• Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
