About The Position

The Patient Education Liaison (PEL) is a field-based member of the Patient Services team. The PEL supports patients by providing disease and product education to patients, families and community members to help empower the patient to navigate through their disease journey.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Wound Care Certification
• 5+years of rare disease experience/pharmaceutical industry
• Pharmaceutical reimbursement experience
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of application
• Highly developed time management skills
• Advanced communication skills, coordination, and planning skills along with the ability to interact with a variety of audiences to build collaboration on consensus
• Intellectual curiosity to look at a problem from all sides to recognize issues and opportunities

Responsibilities

• Lead education efforts of disease state, genetics, diagnostic and production information to patients and families
• Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, text, email, virtual, and in person connections
• Assess individual needs of the patients and develop an appropriate education and resource plan of action, considering the patient's family, team of healthcare providers, and community members
• Work closely with specialty pharmacy partner team members to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective patient care delivery
• Increase disease awareness by completing community and healthcare education outreach
• Adhere to professional standards compliance guidelines, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements
• Other duties as assigned
