Requirements

• Six (6) months customer service or food service experience.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year healthcare food service experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of common diet modifications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to problem-solve in a customer service environment.
• Current BLS card (CPR). Class will be provided upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Two years food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for communications between the nursing units and the Food Service Department regarding patient menus, diet changes, and general patient services.
• Reads the patient menus to patients twice daily.
• Edits patient selections to meet restrictions associated with diet orders.
• Organizes and manages diet orders in a timely and effective manner.
• Develops menu tallies of special requests.
• Must be familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
• Assembles trays for patients and delivers meal trays to patient rooms and nursing units.
• Assigned to highest priority patient care areas.
• Occasionally prepares salads, desserts, beverages, and other miscellaneous food items.
• Assists the supervisors/leads in the daily operation of the patient services program.
• Assists with customer service recovery initiatives.
• Responsible for onboarding and training new associates.
