About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for a part time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) position at UVA Health Prince William. The role involves working on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. The Patient Dining Associate is part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature. The position requires prior customer service experience and offers a fixed pay rate of $16.50 per hour. The schedule is part-time, with varying days from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and rotating weekends are required.

Requirements

• Prior customer service experience is required.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, or cultural preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient's menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
• Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and the patient's rights policy as outlined in HIPAA.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on liquid diets or with specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
