About The Position
The Patient Data Analyst supports patient care and patient safety by ensuring the integrity of patient data across the health system including Master Patient Index, Vital Records, other demographic and insurance information, and released health information. Analyzes patient data and researches and resolves potential errors or omissions associated with the Master Patient Index, demographic and insurance information, and clinical data for targeted populations of patients. Maintains a database and reports identified issues to appropriate departments to support patient care, billing, and reimbursement. Responsible for fostering high levels of customer service in coordinating the collection and release of information to patients and their agents, regulatory agencies, the state of Georgia, and other HIM customers ensuring that they receive appropriate, timely, and accurate health information. Demonstrates patience, sensitivity, and the ability to diffuse tense situations. Collects patient data both from the electronic medical record and by face-to-face interviews with patients and their agents both in HIM and in patient care settings. Coordinates patient generated HIPAA and other medical record amendment requests with the Director, Compliance, and appropriate caregivers. Enrolls HIM customers and their families in the patient portal. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe.
