About The Position

The Patient Customer Representative (PCR) is responsible for executing patient scheduling duties, assisting with the check-out process, and performing various administrative tasks to enhance department processes and customer service. This role involves communicating effectively with patients and staff, managing appointment scheduling, and ensuring accurate documentation in the IDX and EPIC systems. The position is fully remote after training and operates Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 1 year experience in a customer service position.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Functional PC skills with ability to learn various software programs.
  • Typing speed of 25 wpm preferred with good accuracy.
  • Pleasant and well-developed customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team orientation.
  • Understands concept of service recovery.
  • Demonstrate potential to learn medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Developing knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Execute patient scheduling duties and document within the IDX system following provider specifics and scheduling guidelines.
  • Collect necessary information from patients when scheduling and/or cancelling appointments.
  • Instruct patients on necessary preparations when booking appointments/testing.
  • Acknowledge and assist patients with the check-out process.
  • Review and provide After-Visit summaries to patients.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for patients in the IDX/Web Advance system.
  • Check encounter and demographic forms for the following day and highlight required information.
  • Monitor In-Basket for messages regarding Work-In appointments and telephone messages.
  • Address and work to resolve customer service issues utilizing behavioral expectation guidelines.
  • Coordinate, sort, and distribute information within the department.
