About The Position

The Patient Coordinator at Urology Clinics of North Texas is responsible for managing patient check-in processes, ensuring a welcoming environment, and assisting patients and staff with various administrative tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient office operations and providing excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Receptionist (preferred).
  • Interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills to effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, patients, and co-workers.
  • Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical office methods and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of the practice's computer system (EMR/PM/Scheduling).
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Open the office every morning, including unlocking doors, turning on lights, starting computers, and preparing paperwork.
  • Prepare AUA's, New Patient, PQRI, and Medical History Forms.
  • Scan patient's insurance card and driver's license and upload to the patient's chart.
  • Email the Insurance Verification Representative if the Benefits Sheet states 'Scan Card'.
  • Ensure each patient reviews and signs their demographic sheet to keep information up to date.
  • Collect co-payments, balances, and large amounts prior to the patient being seen by the physician.
  • Direct patient complaints or problems to the Front Desk Supervisor or Office Administrator.
  • Print off charge tickets for the next day and ensure all data from billing spreadsheets are on the charge tickets.
  • Assist with check-out duties when necessary.
  • Ensure all cabinets are stocked with daily work items.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of urology-related conditions, diseases, and procedures.
  • Utilize good communication skills during interactions with patients and co-workers.
  • Achieve and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, physicians, and other health care providers.
  • Maintain the appearance of the lobby, ensuring it is tidy and stocked with reading materials.
