Responsible for scheduling clinic, radiology and other ancillary appointments for returning KCC patients as well as performing all responsibilities of a staff information specialist. Responsibilities: Answers all incoming customer calls. Identify and triage information needs of caller. Enters accurate demographic and insurance information into the scheduling system to ensure that financial viability at Karmanos Cancer Hospital is secured at the most basic level. Responsible for scheduling appointments requested by customers via email.. Based on predetermined template, schedule return and return to new provider patients for treatment and physician clinic appointments; schedule new and return patients for radiology and other diagnostic and screening procedures. Participate in staff meetings and continuing education programs with other staff members in order to build individual skills and implement process improvements that lead to achieving and sustaining a high level of caller satisfaction. Assists and educates patients, families, and physicians’ offices in procedures necessary to procure a complete set of records and the importance of having those records available for a complete evaluation.
