About The Position

We are seeking Patient Safety Companion, who will sit with patients who are at risk for falling or harming themselves and to keep the nursing staff informed of any immediate risk. As a result of your life experience, you will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to observe, comfort, redirect, and support patients to promote patient safety. You will ensure quality focused outcomes; function within a collaborative practice to enhance quality; and participate in continuous improvement activities. Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred
Experience: No minimum experience required.
Certifications: Safety Care Certification required within 6 months

Responsibilities

Accountable for staying in direct visual contact with patient to help provide timely notification to appropriate staff on patient safety and for patient status changes on the assigned shift.
Responsible for adhering to all standards of BRMC's code of conduct and promoting a team effort among co-workers.
Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
