About the position

PCHC's Patient Communications Center is looking for a Patient Communications Specialist II (Medical Assistant) to provide clinical support and be the first vital impression for patients calling PCHC. This role involves high-quality customer service and acting as a resource for clinical calls. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with remote work possible after a successful training period.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Ambassador for PCHC, providing high quality customer service to patients.
  • Acts as a resource in the Patient Communications Center for clinical calls.
  • First point of contact for patient care and scheduling matters.
  • Liaisons between patients and clinical teams, ensuring clear communication.
  • Verifies patient demographics in EMR formats.
  • Accurately schedules appointments following protocols.
  • Informs patients of financial responsibilities and collects payments.
  • Educated on PCHC practices, providers, and processes.
  • Answers patient inquiries to streamline processes and reduce clinical workloads.
  • Collaborates with teams to improve patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational certification required.
  • Three years of experience in a clinical/medical setting required.
  • Excellent IT/Technology skills.
  • Completion of Medical Terminology course required within one year of hire.
  • Three years of experience providing high level customer service, preferably in a medical office setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification as an MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA or CNA.
  • Experience in a large Call Center.
