About The Position

The Adult Clinic-PCR Aide facilitates patient care by scheduling patient appointments, assisting with patient care, and making referral appointments for patients. This position is expected to float between aide duties and scheduler duties on a regular basis.  Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic (PCHC).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Completion of Nurse Aide I course, or Medical Assistant program required. Other formal school programs may be considered.
  • Current BLS or CPR/First Aid certification
  • Mandatory reporter training for child and dependent adult abuse certificate
  • Basic language, intermediate reasoning ability
  • Communication – listening, speaking, writing, and reading comprehension
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Office Products (ex. Excel, Word, Access, Power Point) and Windows Platform. Must be comfortable moving within an EHR computer system regularly.
  • Ability to work with a large degree of independence

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists nursing staff and providers with patient care.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and supplies of the clinical area.
  • Backs up referral coordinator as needed.
  • Performs scheduler role as a regular part of their duties.
  • Manages patient flow in the patient care area.
  • Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
  • Works to improve work processes and clinical outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains own competence.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.
  • Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.
