About The Position

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive care for equine patients. Key duties include administering medications and treatments, collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate records. The role also involves assisting in the preparation and performance of special veterinary procedures. Additionally, the Patient Care Veterinary Assistant is tasked with ensuring acceptable levels of cleanliness are maintained within barns, treatment areas, and other related facilities.

Requirements

• Previous equine experience and/or veterinary assistant experience
• Working knowledge of basic principles of equine care
• Demonstrated knowledge of equine restraint and handling techniques
• Ability to follow established protocol and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to safely move and handle up to 75lbs
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Successful completion of a criminal conviction check

Nice To Haves

• Licensed Veterinary Technician or training in animal science or a health-related field
