About The Position

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive care for equine patients. Key duties include administering medications and treatments, collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate patient records. The role also involves assisting with the preparation and execution of special veterinary procedures. Additionally, the Patient Care Vet Assistant is tasked with ensuring high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in barns, treatment areas, and all other related facilities.

Requirements

• Previous equine experience and/or veterinary assistant experience
• Working knowledge of basic principles of equine care
• Demonstrated knowledge of equine restraint and handling techniques
• Ability to follow established protocol and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to safely move and handle up to 75lbs
• Must be 18 years old

Nice To Haves

• Licensed Veterinary Technician or training in animal science or a health-related field
