About The Position

Implement established program of study and conduct training program in specialty area. Communicate and demonstrate expertise and knowledge of the principles and practices of a Patient Care Technician and Medical Assistant. Expertise in the clinical skills required of a Patient Care Technology/Medical Assistant. Evaluation of students, maintaining student records, and assisting with recruitment and job placement. Instruct students in safety and practice good safety habits. Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to business and industry; establish and maintain good public relations with the school's general public. Select or develop specifications for machines, equipment, and tools; maintain good physical conditions in classroom and/or lab area.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with current active licensure in the State of Tennessee.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years recent nursing experience or three (3) years of experience as a Patient Care Technology/Medical Assistant.
  • One (1) year of long-term care experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or LPN/RN preferred.
  • Ability to teach Certified Nursing Assistant duties, EKG and Phlebotomy.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) as well as the ability to learn and use other software.
