The Surgical Step Down unit at BMC is a 38-bed unit that provides care for intermediate level surgical patients, including post-operative and surgical specialty patients such as trauma, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, transplant patients, and cardiothoracic surgery. As a Patient Care Technician in the Critical Care department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team. Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, Patient Care Technicians provide direct clinical and support services. This role involves participating in the delivery of patient-centered care to patients and their families and working cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide various support services.
