About The Position
Position Highlights: Position: Patient Care Technician - Mixed unit of General Surgical, Oncology/Chemo, and Hospice Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126 Part-Time: This is a seasonal role for students and is hired as a per-diem status. Open and flexible to discussing hours during school breaks over summer, winter, and spring break. Hours: 7:00pm-7:30am with every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays What you will do: The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.
Requirements
- N/A
- Preferred candidate is a Freshman/Sophomore/Junior enrolled in college for Nursing or another Health Sciences related field looking to work on their school breaks
- Current CPR Certification issues by the American Heart Association
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
- Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
