Patient Care Technician The Patient Care Tech assists with scheduling of IR, Cath Lab, Radiology and other invasive and noninvasive cardiology and/or vascular procedures when needed. Provides required forms for physician use in the medical record. Establishes new medical records for admissions and breakdowns record of discharged patients in a timely manner. Assists the patient with the activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, feeding ambulating, surgical preps, etc. Provides safe and timely transport of patients as assigned. Reports appropriate data to RN. Keeps Relief Charge Nurse/Clinical Supervisor informed of activities when out of the department. Notifies ancillary departments of need for patient services in a timely and appropriate manner. Assists visitors in the Hospital as needed. Answers call lights promptly and professionally. Communicates effectively with physician offices, insurance verifiers, PAS, Physicians, PAT Nurses, Cath Lab leadership, and patients in regard to scheduling needs

Requirements

  • Current California CNA License, EMT or Paramedic required
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Basic dysrhythmia certification required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months experience working as a CNA or Paramedic preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
