About The Position

Patient Care Technician - Stony Brook Urology, UFPC Location: Lake Grove, NY Schedule: Part Time Days/Hours: Mon 1pm-5pm Tues, Thurs, Fri 8:30am-5:00pm P ay: $17.52 - $21.90 Our compensation philosophy aims to provide marketable compensation programs and to compensate employees based on relevant experience and education. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents Stony Brook CPMP’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting Responsibilities SUMMARY: The incumbent, under general supervision and according to established policies & procedures, is responsible for preparing the patient to be seen by the physician or provider.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Graduate from a Patient Care Technician or a Certified Nursing Assistant program or six (6) months of direct patience experience or completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited Nursing program which included both didactic and clinical rotations.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Physical ability to move 50 lbs. or more.

Nice To Haves

  • Physician office experience.
  • BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all patients are seen in an expedient and timely manner in the examination rooms in the outpatient facility.
  • Assist with the setting up and preparation of patient and equipment for procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the area, clean area after patient exams and procedures.
  • Check patient vitals and document all intake information.
  • Enter patient information in the Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Review patient chart, make sure necessary paper work is available for the physician and for the patients.
  • Collect urine samples.
  • Order supplies and equipment for patient procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
