Patient Care Technician Emergency Department - Full Time 36 hrs./week - Nights - Warren
About The Position
Patient Care Technician - Emergency Department - 36 Hours - Midnights Eligible for Full-Time Benefits Shift: Midnights 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, alternating weekend schedule GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. The culture in the ED is a team approach. They must have willingness to work as a team with the expectation of being able to adjust to a high acuity and fast-paced department. Every other weekend and holiday are required, along with hard to fill days.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.
Responsibilities
- Aids with movement and placement of patients.
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
- Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
