About The Position

A Patient Care Tech (PCT) at ProMedica plays a vital role in the health and safety of our patients every day. From caring for patients to performing clerical services, a PCT helps all members of the unit. This per diem position provides support for both planned and unplanned staffing needs, including vacations, leaves of absence, call-offs, and increased patient volume. ProMedica health care team while complying with standards, procedures and policies. A PCT is a genuine ambassador for ProMedica as they interact with patients, visitors and co-workers. The PCT assists the patient care team with exams, procedures, obtaining patient data and other processes related to direct patient care. The PCT also ensures an appropriate stock of supplies and equipment is available and functioning properly. Per diem positions will be expected to float to all Metro Cancer Centers in medical and radiation oncology to cover needs. In this role, you will perform tasks related to scheduling procedures, coordinating admission as well as discharge and transfer processes. PCTs answer phones, take messages and direct calls. You will also pick up and delivers specimens, documents and other items to contribute to operational efficiency. SCHEDULE & WORK EXPECTATIONS: This per diem position provides support for both planned and unplanned staffing needs, including vacations, leaves of absence, call-offs, and increased patient volume. The role will float as needed to all four metro cancer centers: Flower Hickman Cancer Center, Toledo Hospital Cancer Center, Bay Park Cancer Center, and Perrysburg Levis Commons Cancer Center. Hours: Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., though exact hours may vary based on department needs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills, ability to read and write, and communicate or respond to inquiries.
  • CPR certification prior to performing direct care; training provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a medical setting.
  • No specialized education or certification is required to apply. On-the-job training will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need.
