About The Position

Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for PRN Patient Care Technician (PCT) for day shifts to join our team of health care professionals in a newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX. Join our team and help us provide top-tier medical services to a justice involved population! The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct patient care under nurse supervision, assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and performing technical tasks within scope of practice to support patient safety and comfort. The PCT is also responsible for actively maintaining patient supervision within the unit (milieu) and responding promptly to call bells. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Patient Care Technician program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Nice To Haves

  • ECG/Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including, but not limited to: hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • Take and record vital signs.
  • Monitor and report changes and patient conditions and document changes accurately.
  • Perform ECGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
  • Assist with mobility and safe patient transfers.
  • Maintain clean and safe patient environment.
  • Answer patient call bells promptly.
  • Remain in the patient care milieu at all times to ensure supervision and safety
  • Collaborate with security and medical staff to ensure the safety and security of patients and personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
