Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent, successful completion of PCT course within three (3) months of hire.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
Basic computer skills and general knowledge of office machines, including printers, fax machines, and scanners.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient information.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of work experience in a clinic, hospital, or physician’s office.

Responsibilities

Obtains the patient’s height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, and chief complaint and records the data in the EMR.
Assists patients to laboratory and radiology for diagnostic testing.
Collects laboratory specimens as ordered by physician.
Performs EKGs as ordered by physicians.
Sets up equipment for testing or treatment that is to be performed by the Licensed Practical Nurse or a Provider.
Assist physicians with procedures, i.e. pelvic exams and minor surgical procedures including but not limited to removal of ingrown toenails, removal of skin lesions and closure of minor lacerations.
Schedule follow up appointments as ordered by the Provider or per standing orders.
Schedule referral appointments as ordered by the Provider .
Enter orders for labs, referrals, and testing as ordered by the Provider.
Supervises the maintenance and cleaning of medical equipment.
Cleans, rinses, packages, and utilizes the autoclave to sterilize instruments.
Performs extension of benefits for patients with Medicare insurance as needed.
May perform other duties as assigned.
