Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent, successful completion of PCT course within three (3) months of hire.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Basic computer skills and general knowledge of office machines, including printers, fax machines, and scanners.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient information.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of work experience in a clinic, hospital, or physician’s office.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains the patient’s height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, and chief complaint and records the data in the EMR.
  • Assists patients to laboratory and radiology for diagnostic testing.
  • Collects laboratory specimens as ordered by physician.
  • Performs EKGs as ordered by physicians.
  • Sets up equipment for testing or treatment that is to be performed by the Licensed Practical Nurse or a Provider.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, i.e. pelvic exams and minor surgical procedures including but not limited to removal of ingrown toenails, removal of skin lesions and closure of minor lacerations.
  • Schedule follow up appointments as ordered by the Provider or per standing orders.
  • Schedule referral appointments as ordered by the Provider .
  • Enter orders for labs, referrals, and testing as ordered by the Provider.
  • Supervises the maintenance and cleaning of medical equipment.
  • Cleans, rinses, packages, and utilizes the autoclave to sterilize instruments.
  • Performs extension of benefits for patients with Medicare insurance as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
