About The Position

Works under the supervision of the Emergency Services Manager and other Registered Nursing Staff. Is responsible for assisting in the performance of delegated patient care activities, including activities of daily living and basic procedures, as well as identified competencies required in Emergency Services. Is responsible for performing the clerical and receptionist functions of the work area and other related technical and clinical support activities as directed by the RN. Monitors and records cardiac rhythms observed on cardiorespiratory monitoring equipment and reports abnormal findings to RN staff. Collaborates and interacts positively with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and achieve desired outcomes. May be required to work other shifts/units as needed. Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with patient care. Requirements

  • Basic clinical skills and clerical skills
  • Must successfully complete a course in basic ECG rhythm and recognition within 6 months of hire
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in an appropriate health care setting such as physician office, hospital, or clinic

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Medical Assistant Program or successful completion of at least one quarter or semester of clinical work in a health-related program with a grade of C or higher
  • Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, EMT-B, or STNA
  • Two or more years’ experience in an appropriate health care setting such as physician office, hospital, or clinic
