About The Position

Springfield Regional Outpatient Surgery Center (Springfield OSC) is a Medicare-certified, AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center located in Springfield, Ohio. With four operating rooms and a procedure room, the center provides high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care across specialties including orthopedics, sports medicine, digestive health, general surgery, spine, women’s health, plastic surgery, podiatry, and pain management. Owned and operated in partnership with local physicians, Springfield OSC combines advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centered care in a convenient setting. The Patient Care Technician provides hands-on support to patients and clinical staff under the direction of the Registered Nurse. This role focuses on patient transport, preparation, comfort, and safety, while also assisting with operating room setup, turnover, and maintaining a clean, organized surgical environment to support efficient daily operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS certification
  • Basic computer skills (email, Word, scheduling systems)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with patient transfers
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Exposure to clinical environments, including infectious materials (Category 1), with appropriate training and PPE
  • Flexible schedule to meet daily surgery needs

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient transport, preparation, positioning, and comfort before and after procedures
  • Support patient transfers and mobility using proper safety techniques
  • Assist with OR room setup, turnover, and restocking of supplies
  • Prepare equipment and pull cases for scheduled procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of OR suites, equipment, and common areas
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and exposure control protocols
  • Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients, families, and staff
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, anesthesia, and surgical teams to support daily case flow
  • Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned
