Patient Care Technician
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. This role involves performing routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. The technician will perform observations of patients and report changes in their condition to the registered nurse. Specific skills include phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT). The Patient Care Technician also assists patients with all aspects of daily living activities, including general hygiene, changings, light housekeeping, and taking patient vitals. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- BLS Certification

Responsibilities
- Providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
- Perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient.
- Perform observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
- Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).
- Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene of the patient, changings, light housekeeping, and patient vitals.
