The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. This role involves performing routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. The technician will perform observations of patients and report changes in their condition to the registered nurse. Specific skills include phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT). The Patient Care Technician also assists patients with all aspects of daily living activities, including general hygiene, changings, light housekeeping, and taking patient vitals.
