About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join their team in an outpatient dialysis center. This role offers the opportunity to make an exceptional difference in the lives of patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease by delivering empathetic and compassionate care. No prior dialysis experience is required, as DaVita provides paid, extensive training to equip individuals with the necessary skills. Upon successful completion of training, the PCT will join a holistic team of care professionals, including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and experienced PCTs, to provide patient care. This position is described as a career based on passion and purpose, offering a jump start into the healthcare field.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care to ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
• Care for multiple patients.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats and patient observations.
• Set up hemodialysis machines.
• Build long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease and receiving treatment.
• Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
• Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
