About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for its Hudson Dialysis Center in Hudson, WI. This role involves providing direct, one-on-one patient care, focusing on safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatments for approximately 4 patients at a time. PCTs are responsible for monitoring patients before, during, and after treatment, including measuring and recording vital statistics, observing patients, and setting up hemodialysis machines. The position requires working 10-12 hour shifts, 3-4 days a week, including every other Saturday, with clinics operating from 3:30 AM to 8 PM. Teammates must have flexibility to open and close clinics and will float between Hudson and Amery locations to achieve full-time hours (typically 32-40 hours per week). DaVita offers a robust, paid training program, a mix of classroom and hands-on instruction, and reimbursement for the Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb, including heavy lifting.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience (e.g., BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification).

Responsibilities

  • Serve patients at the Hudson Dialysis Center and float between Hudson and Amery for full-time hours.
  • Work 10-12 hour shifts, 3-4 days a week, including every other Saturday, with clinics closed on Sundays.
  • Be available to open and close clinics (as early as 3:30 AM and as late as 8 PM).
  • Provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment through direct one-on-one patient care.
  • Care for approximately 4 patients at a time.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
  • Measure and record patient statistics and observations.
  • Perform hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
