Position: Patient Care Technician Department: Menino PACU Schedule: 40 Hours, Days/Evenings (1pm-1130pm) ABOUT THE MENINO PACU DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: The Menino Post Anesthesia Care Unit/Pre-Operative Unit on the new integrated procedural platform consists of 42 bays. All 42 bays provide advanced Intensive Care monitoring as well as Pre-Operative care. Pre-Op and PACU functions as a holding area for our Procedural patients requiring specialized cardiac and interventional care. The department also functions as a high acuity recovery area stabilizing many directly from the OR/Procedural areas after surgery. The Unit also provides 23 hour observation to a small number of post op patients nightly. POSITION SUMMARY: As a Patient Care Technician in our Perioperative Services department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our Patient Care Technicians provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs.
