About The Position
The Patient Care Technician is competent to perform both as a Unit Secretary or Certified Nursing Assistant. The Patient Care Technician is flexible and may be assigned as a unit secretary, certified nursing assistant, or in a dual position where both skills are utilized simultaneously. The Patient Care Technician performs these duties under the direction of the Charge Nurse/Clinical Manager. The Patient Care Technician will assist the licensed nursing staff in performing basic patient care and related work as required under supervision of team leader/RN/Charge Nurse. The Patient Care Technician will perform specific clerical and reception functions under the direction of the Charge Nurse / Clinical Manager. S/he requisitions supplies, equipment and services as directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or equivalent patient care experience preferred
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
