About The Position

DaVita is looking for an Experienced Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Kenton Dialysis Center in Kenton, OH and Float to Galion, Marion, Ontario, and Mount Vernon as needed. Some details about this position: Operational Hours: M/W/F 4:00am - 6:00pm at Kenton PCTs expected shifts for this clinic: 3 days/week and can be asked to start as early as 4:00 am You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday Our PCTs also find DaVita professionally fulfilling. Requirements

  • You are team oriented, work well with others, dependable, outgoing with a great personality, able to work start work early and work late as needed, comfortable working with blood and needles, love to learn and thrive in chaos, willing to take on more without issue, great communication, reliable transportation, comfortable floating to other locations, and willing to ask questions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when it's safe for our patients.
  • Willingness to work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Dialysis experience required including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT).
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • Technician Duties. In the morning, the opening PCT is coming in to get the water room ready and the bicarb for the patients. They are testing the water for chlorine, checking to make sure the tools are calibrated. There are a lot of duties in the morning.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
  • Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week.
  • Educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
  • PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
