Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the PCT I performs delegated patient care activities in a manner that is aligned with the age specific needs of the patient to ensure safe, accurate, and high-quality care. PCT I is an entry level position whose job functions include but are not limited to: providing for a patient's activities of daily living (ADLs); limited screening, collection, and recording of data and information; maintenance of unit supplies and equipment; patient transporting; answering call-lights, telephone, Vocera. There are four pathways of entry into the PCT I position (see EXPERIENCE). If coworker is under the age of 18, he/she may not operate a power-driven hoisting apparatus such as a Hoyer Lift. Transports patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, bassinet. Answers patient call-lights, telephones, Vocera. Communicates and reports patient data and information to the RN.

  • After completion of Franciscan PCT In-training program
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - American Heart Association
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Nursing student after having completed 1st semester of clinicals
