About The Position
Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a Part-time Patient Care Technician to join our Medical Telemetry/ Intercare team in Springfield, MA. Daly 6B – Medical Intercare Unit Daly 6B is a dedicated, close-knit group with an engaged leadership team all with strong clinical backgrounds and a dedicated medical director both devoted to professional growth and development. Care for a broad patient population and perfect your skills with 21 intercare beds and 21 acute care beds, great nursing ratios, and optimal support staff.
Requirements
- PCT training or CNA training, preferred
- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required
- High School diploma or GED
- at least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.)
- Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.) experience OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health
- 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health
Nice To Haves
- PCT training or CNA training, preferred
Responsibilities
- Baystate Health, Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a hands-on role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care alongside our nursing team.
- Under the supervision of an RN, you'll assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.
- PCT’s perform a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing.
- This role also includes assisting with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and supporting emergency response protocols.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.
